On ascertaining Surya ( god of Sun ) to be an all-knowing teacher, Hanuman raised his body into an route around the sun and requested that Surya agree to him as a student. God Surya refused, claiming that as Hanuman constantly had to be on the move in his chariot, it would be not possible for Hanuman to learn successfully. Hanuman ji insisted, as a result of which Surya asked him to help Surya's divine son Sugriva. Hanuman's choice of Surya as his teacher is said to indicate Surya as a Karma Saakshi, a timeless observer of all performance.
